I learned this song after a friend gave me an old LP of erotic folksongs called “Bird in the Bush”. The songs on it had been collected by A.L.Lloyd and sung by him, Anne Briggs and Frankie Armstrong. I took it to the medieval band I was in at the time and this is what we came up with. Song reproduced with kind permission from Pastance (whom I toured with for seven years) from the album “Falling Through Time” (recorded 1995). Musical arrangement by Pastance. Vocal harmonies: Megan Aplin. Lute: Alex Cronin, Renaissance recorders Mathew Ridley.
